Well, another great tragedy occurred on the 14th of February, 2019 at Pulwama, Kashmir, where 44 army personnels have been martyred, the time I am writing this article, by a bomb blast by the terrorists. Indian army is the second biggest army of the world, with the soldiers serving greater purpose. The soldiers of the army get huge amount of well deserved respect from the people too. All those patriotic songs and the movies about the soldiers, make us, not only respect them more, but also feel their pain and their trouble. But, here's the question, do we really feel their condition?
To pay tribute to the soldiers, we all ranted out our feelings on social media, changed our data pictures and also held few condolence meetings. And maybe, you are still boiling inside while you are reading this, like everytime. We do these things everytime that any army personnel dies or someone gets raped. There are very few people who actually care. Most of the people don't really care about these things, just for the instant heat and just because they want to be heard, post about the army and how they want justice, and how they want a war overnight, and such stuffs, most of the time, copied from their favourite meme or quote page. Now, now, you will tell that we have freedom of expression, to do anything we please; it's right:You have got as much freedom of expression in posting such things, as much as I have in writing this thing. I'm in no way against that. Even I too posted things on social media, and I too attended candle marches.
But, the real thing which concerns me, firstly, is that, most of the time we don't mean what we post. Ok, so now you are all turned on, and posting many status' on these things, how immediate war should be declared, and how Pakistan should be bombed, it's a shit country, etc. I understand your outrage entirely. The guardians of our country were killed. We shouldn't let the persons associated with this horrific crime roam freely in the streets. And I didn't mean the previous two lines as sarcasm, in any way. I wrote them straight from the heart. Ok, so here's the thing: Are we the Government? Are we the Judges of the courts? Are we the President? Then who are we to even give instructions to the Government telling, "We want Soksabha(meaning funeral meeting) in Pakistan, before Lok Sabha"; which in general means, we want terrorists to be killed in Pakistan before the general elections 2019. Dude, this is not PUBG, that things will be any easy here. This is the fate of two countries we are talking about, the fate of it's people, and also the fate of the army, who clearing your misconception, don't 'want to be killed.' If you know even something about the current global condition, you must be knowing that this is not the time for a war.
We all also gave/heard many fiery speeches today, which talked about how the army protects us, how we too should join the army, and how we should be patriotic and we shouldn't do things just for the sake of showoffs. But, what did we do? We posted the pictures of the candle marches that we held in memory of the matyred soldiers. Ask this to yourself, did you really do the candle march, for paying tribute to the soldiers or you did so just for the sake of gaining publicity or for any personal gain? In some places (like, our college) things were politicized too. If we can't stay united among us, and we hold different condolence meeting for the sake of spreading the theme of brotherhood, that truly shows how much concerned we are about the soldiers!
Another important thing that is needed to be told is that, stop blaming Pakistan. Pakistan is another country, like India. Just because many terrorists live there, it doesn't mean that the whole country is bad. Imagine you seeing the images of the tricolor, when you search for World's best Toilet paper on Google. How would you feel? That's the same way the people of Pakistan are feeling now! The terrorists are now being genuinely successful in their mission, as they don't have to brainwash people as much as they did earlier. This hatred of yours has given birth to more number of terrorists than you can ever imagine. Think how much outrageous they would be becoming when they see the insult of their nation. They too want revenge like you. And thus, they get easily persuaded by the masterminds, and do things you could never imagine.
The most important flaw we usually make is, we behave as if we are the most intelligent persons on this planet, and give instructions to the Government. All must have declared an unofficial war against Pakistan till now, many declared Surgical Strike and what not! My dear friends, the guys sitting in the Centre, are not morons. They didn't get there just like that. These things are not as easy as they seem. Declaration of war will drain the economy of India, firstly, and secondly, it will bring many complicated global issues. Many of you are telling about doing another surgical strike. I repeat my above statement, these things are not that easy. Just because you saw URI recently doesn't mean that you have become an expert on warfare and such things. Attempting a surgical strike requires proper planning and proper execution. Now that they are aware of such a thing, don't you think the terrorists will be more prepared this time? And yes, bombing the whole of Pakistan, as many of you suggested, is nowhere even near the solution. Because many innocent people will get killed in that way, and killing innocent people will make us look as terrorists as well.
This is the worst of all times to play the card of politics and religion. Many people have been blaming the ruling party, telling that why doesn't he take immediate action, and also telling that all Muslims are terrorists, Islam was based on terrorism, and so on. Let me make things very clear, by doing so, you are making the terrorists' plan successful. They wanted to create divisions between you. They wanted to show you that you are great fools and you can't live unitedly. And we fell in their trap. And a request to all people, please don't play the politics card here. This has got nothing to do with politics. You can't blame any party for not inciting these attacks nor can you blame anyone for not taking actions against anything.
To conclude, this 'Josh' is really great; this is actually how the Youths should really be. But I just hope that this 'Josh' will stay forever in you, and not just for a short time; and you will do truly patriotic things. Patriotism is not something you do in public, but how much aware you are in private. I really condemn the attacks and I hope that the soldiers will get justice first.
Jai Hind! ๐
PS:People please refrain from posting the parts of the dead bodies of the soldiers. It's an insult to them as well as the intrusion of the privacy of their families. Thanks.
